Hi, I am Anoop Chawla, and the internet has truly changed my life. colla1

I discovered Internet Marketing in 2009, and have been doing it full time since 2013.

Thanks to my online business I have escaped the 9 to 5 trap, and today I make a very comfortable living online.

I have purchased my dream bike, a Thunderbird, and I have my own office in a very posh location.

I have also used some of my profits to buy my first brand new car, a Hyundai i20, and to support my family.

I live a laptop lifestyle, which means I just need a laptop and an internet connection to work.

The world is my office.

I work 4 – 5 hours per day and spend the rest of my day meeting friends, reading, eating out and sometimes just taking a long nap.

That’s the beauty of having a real internet business.

You can do whatever you want, provided you just spend a couple of hours working on your laptop.

But Life Was Not Always Like This

I struggled for years before I gained enough knowledge to create my own business and quit my job.

I tried so many methods to make money online that I lost count.

I tried e-commerce, affiliate marketing, writing services, web design,eBay, building micro-niche sites – you name it, and I have tried it.

My First Success Story

During my college days, I was looking for ways to get taller naturally, as I consider myself a little shorter than average (I am 5 feet 7 inches).

During this time, I was exposed to the idea of making money online and creating websites.

I was implementing techniques that I learned from the internet to get taller, and at the same time was thinking about the topic for my first website.

Suddenly, a light bulb went off.

I said to myself, “Why not make a website on how to get taller naturally?”

That day, my first money making website was born.

In a month, I was able to rank my website on the first page of Google for the search term “how to get taller naturally”.

The website was attracting a lot of traffic.

So I simply put up a banner on my website, which said: “Discover how to get taller naturally”.

When someone clicked on that banner, he was redirected to another website selling an eBook about techniques to get taller.

The eBook was priced at $47, and I was making a $23 commission per sale.

BTW, this is called affiliate marketing.

The website was making me around $300 – $400 profit per month without me lifting a finger.

I spent the next few months making 3 more websites like this.

Things were starting to get better.

I was planning fifteen more websites like this on different topics, so I could finally make the income I dreamed of.

God Had A Different Plan:

One dark morning, I woke up to see all of my websites penalized by Google.

They were nowhere to be found.

It only took one Google algorithm update and one night to kill my business.

My whole year’s worth of effort was snatched from me.

I said to myself,“This is not a business, this is gambling, and I hate gambling.”

With a heavy heart, I applied for a traditional job and got a very low-paying sales job in a bank.

Deep inside I knew the job was not for me, but I had no other option to pay the bills.

Every night I still dreamt of being an entrepreneur, be my own boss, buying my own car, etc.

But by then, I knew those dreams would never come true.

As months passed, the pressure to perform better increased, but my salary didn’t.

Out of frustration, I quit that job and got another one at a better salary.

Thinking that it was just the money part I was frustrated about.

As my salary increased, so did my responsibilities and the time I spent on my job.

For the next few months, I felt like I was trading my life for money.

Hearing funny stories about the family gatherings I missed became a common occurrence.

The Tipping Point

My cousin was finally getting married.

I was excited.

I went into my boss’s office and asked him if I could get just one day off for my cousin’s wedding.

He just looked me in the eye and said NO, then went back to working on his computer.

So I went to the ceremony straight from work and was quoted as the worst dressed family member.

Something inside me felt disgusted that day.

It wasn’t just about my inability to look good, I am not that shallow.

It was something deeper.

I realized I had no free will.

I was really unhappy, and it started showing up in my work.

Success Disguised As Failure

A few days later, on a cloudy morning, I was working at my desk when out of nowhere, my boss asked me to meet him in his office.

I was scared, but I didn’t let it show on my face.

I walked in holding my breath.

In front of everybody, my boss insulted me for no reason.

Maybe he wanted to teach me a lesson so I would think twice the next time I asked to leave for a family function.

He made me look like a complete fool.

I will never forget that day!

It was the first time since my school days that I felt like crying.

I went home, locked myself in my room, and cried.

I Asked God:

“What am I doing wrong? Why my life is so difficult?”

That night, I just couldn’t sleep.

I wanted to leave my job but I couldn’t afford to lose my monthly income.

I had too many responsibilities.

No matter how exciting the idea of starting my own business looked on the surface, deep inside I was scared.

I had already quit a few jobs before.

If I quit this job and failed in my business, I knew I wouldn’t ever be able to dream again.

I wanted to protect my dream so badly.

I had millions of thoughts running through my mind when suddenly, like a lightning bolt, it hit me.

What if there was a way to start an online business part time and only quit my job once I had reached a similar income as my day job?

That looked like a solution to all of my problems.

Rise of Another Big Problem:

After coming home from my job, I was left with little energy to focus on anything else.

I was really tired and wanted to spend the rest of my time doing the stuff I enjoyed, like going out with my friends or just relaxing.

But I hated my job to the core, and was really motivated to start my own business.

I assessed my schedule and felt I could squeeze in 2 hours per day on my online business, so I decided to stretch and work 4.

I knew it would be physically taxing and I wouldn’t be able to give my family the time they deserved for a few months.

But I wanted to get out of this rat race forever.

I would work from 9PM to 1AM every night.

People would call me crazy.

A few family members even thought that I spent my nights watching porn, but I was sure I was on the right track.

Being able to at last work for myself was immensely satisfying.

I felt I am home again.

How I Finally Got Out Of The Rat Race:

I firmly believe something good comes out of every bad situation.

So no matter how bad I felt thinking about my past failures, I would sit and ask myself”

“What mistakes I made in my previous online businesses that caused me to eventually fail?”

I found two pivotal mistakes I made:

Mistake #1

1. I was trying to game Google’s algorithm and play smart.

Mistake #2

2. I was not building an email list.

So this time instead of trying to rank in Google, my main forte was to build a targeted email list.

Within a month I was able to build a list of 200 email subscribers.

From that point on,anytime I wanted to promote an offer I would just send it to my email list, and to my surprise, I got some sales.

It was like I had learned some sort of black magic.

In the span of 3 months, I reached a point where my online business was making equivalent to what I was making at my job.

To make things even safer, I had saved enough money to let me survive for six months without a salaried job.

The next day I gave my resignation and swore that I would never wear a tie again.

Today, I own two online businesses and make a very comfortable living.

Many days I work in my pajamas.

My Advice to People Who are Starting

Focus on building a targeted email list.

Nothing comes even close to the returns generated by email marketing.

A survey estimated that, “For every $1 spent, email marketing generates $37 in return on investment”.

If you are not building an email list, you are leaving money on the table.

So from day one, your focus should be to build an email list.

Not Facebook likes, not twitter followers, but good old fashioned email subscribers.

There are No Excuses:

When I started, I didn’t have a resource like the one you are reading now.

It took me a long time to figure out all of this stuff by myself.

Fortunately for you, I have arranged everything.

In this blog, I will share everything I know that has allowed me to build a successful online business from scratch while working just 4 hours a day.

You don’t need to take the risk and quit your job yet.

All you have to do is spare 2-4 hours a day from your busy schedule and take little baby steps until you can confidently kill your job.

Thank you for reading my story.
